Meet the unlikely crew behind Rippl.

What do a butcher, a food trucker & content queen, a brand & people photographer and a seasoned TV director have in common? Other than a lack of sleep, an appreciation for the powerful role of stories in our lives.

Rippl was born from connection, curiosity, and a love of real, humanness. And food. We can't forget the food!

Together, we’re building a Podcast Production company. We're a bit like a chippy sandwich when you've never had one, you know you like all the components... the idea of them together is a bit odd, but kind of exciting - then you add the marmite and the lettuce and well, we all know how that one ends. (if you don't, best sandwich everrrr)

We want to connect people through stories, we all have one.

My background is in food. I founded Woodys Free Range in 2013, growing it into a well-regarded name in New Zealand’s food scene. Through that journey, I saw first-hand how powerful great storytelling can be—whether it's about ethical farming, the craft of butchery, or the people behind the plate. That’s what Rippl is all about: capturing those stories and bringing them to life in an engaging, authentic way.

Karlina Mitchell

Founder & Storyteller

My first business taught me the value of frank story telling and my second business uses the skills I learnt to help others do the same.

From shaping Get Content with Helen to building Dutchy’s Burger Joint with my partner, anything I've had success with in life has been about storytelling in some way. I like to share things as they are, without the polish or the shiny shoes.

I'm a mega consumer of podcasts so selfishly this will give me some more to listen to.

I’ve always believed that stories are what connect us and make us who we are. Capturing memories and moments for people and brands is my jam at The Nomad Creative and Get Content, with Karli. I’ve spent years behind a camera helping people document their story through my lens—and now, with Rippl, we get to do it through words too. It’s all about real people, real stories and sharing those things that we all resonate with.

Editor and Professional Opinion Giver (life saver)

I've spent 30 years as a journalist and television documentary director. I won't lie, that number stings a little but when I stop to think how many years I've been doing this work, I'm incredibly proud. From the first 5am shift in the RNZ newsroom in Christchurch, to the last series I worked on helping people with dementia rediscover their confidence and self worth in The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes, this has always felt like the work I was put on this earth to do.

I also happen to be Daniel's friend and as long as I've known him we've been talking about podcasts. At some point he started talking about doing his own podcast, and now look where we are.
